Senior Digital Ad Operations Director

Position Responsibilities and Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned):

The Senior Digital Ad Operations Director will be the subject matter expert who will work collaboratively with internal teams and external customers to ensure campaign objectives are met.

This is a key role in helping grow our business and service our clients.  You will interact with our customers and be a knowledgeable and persuasive advocate for process, media planning and optimization strategies.  If you are someone who is ready to serve as a leader in ad operations services and is willing to mentor our digital operations staff, this job is for you.


  • Act as the owner for the various ad operations (ad ops) processes (how we do things) across all digital platforms and tactics (Campaign management, Programmatic, Search, Social)
  • Define our ideal processes, SOPs, improvement areas and benchmarks to drive efficiency and scale--setting the bar of how we will measure productivity and performance of our ad ops team
  • Evaluate and identify root causes of customer escalations and recommend solutions that will systematically address and resolve these complex issues, and in conjunction with the account management and ops SWAT (special workflow and tactics) teams, put in place improvements to mitigate future recurrences
  • Act as the SME to assist in advising clients’ inquiries on processes, optimizations, etc.
  • Promote best practices and trends and develop opportunities for improvement
  • Manage relationships with Ad Tech platform partners and vendors
  • Partner with the training team and collaborate on train-to-trainer programs to ensure we are up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices
  • Develop, mentor, and inspire a high-performance team of ad operations specialists
  • Define metrics relevant to measure the performance of the team and evangelize with cross-functional teams and management
  • Build productive and positive relationships across the organization at all levels to drive influence


  • 8-10+ years of experience in Digital Ad Operations (Ad Ops), Revenue Operations, or Product Operations
  • BA/BS or equivalent 4-year degree
  • Has experience with some combination of the following: audience research, messaging development, campaign planning & measurement, paid social planning & buying, content auditing, user experience
  • Experience in managing complex, multi-platform campaigns, working with key digital platforms: Google, Facebook, various DSP’s
  • Has deep expertise in major advertising platforms and techniques
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical and quantitative skills
  • Highly organized, exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking and follow through
  • Self-starter with high level of accountability, proven ability to take ownership
  • Strong business communication and high EQ skills, both written and verbal; able to present at leadership level
  • Thrive in ambiguity and often lack of clarity
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, managing, leading and mentoring a high-performance team
  • In-depth understanding on the online advertising industry: desktop, mobile (web/in-app), video, search technologies, as well as measurement platform knowledge
  • Highly proficient in digital ad server technology (e.g. Google Ads Manager), Demand Side Platforms (e.g., Search/SEM, SaaS platforms and data measurement
  • Knowledge of booked-to-billed (order to cash) lifecycle, ad sales processes, ad trafficking, QA, performance analytics/reporting, policy and compliance, and billing
  • Comfortable working with large data sets using a variety of tools
  • Others preferred skills: knowledge of Google Analytics, reporting tools, attribution, Experience with DMP’s, understanding of automation and system integrations
