E-commerce Product Manager

The e-commerce product manager will work cross-functionally with sales, technology, operations teams to identify new opportunities, define requirements, and execute new platform features/enhancements that will meet and exceed business objectives.

Position Responsibilities and Essential Duties: (other duties may be assigned)

Product development and management

  • Master and lead the effort on product creation, development, enhancements and improvements
  • Lead the discovery and troubleshooting of the new services and products such as identify site optimizations and improvements that result in new/improved site experience, features, platform/system updates, content and/or bug fixes
  • Evaluate web and mobile functionality to improve overall site features, user functionalities leading to improved revenue, differentiated brand and better customer experience
  • Lead, handle and resolve product issues or escalations and deep dive into the root causes of new or recurring issues to mitigate recurrence or any interruption of services and/or client deliverables
  • Lead road mapping and management of the e-commerce backlog--plan, lead sprints, release and implementation
  • Participate in the development and execution of strategic and tactical business plans related to the e-commerce strategy
  • Manage e-commerce web analytics and communicate relevant information to team members, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners.

Client support, communication and user experience

  • Provide support and communication of the products to the clients (internal and external)
  • Evaluate, define, setting technical requirements for overall functionality, new initiatives and other enhancements to meet or exceed client’s requirements and expectations
  • Collaborate with technology and engineering teams to work toward successful project delivery

Technical product support, training and reporting

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, communicating and updating discovery, implementation and training documentation to the other teams including operations
  • Measure product functionality and user experience and acceptance (success or failure), and future enhancements/improvements, and conduct user analysis and research
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the internal operations team for ongoing usage
  • Act as the SME and lead the training or train-to-trainer programs to ensure teams are up-to-date with the latest technologies
  • Create data- and metrics-driven reports and communicate to stakeholders
  • Collaborate and strategize with teams including product, operations, technology and engineering and marketing to create and promote best practices to improve site experience

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years product owner experience and technical architecture of e-commerce/web applications media products
  • Must have in-depth e-commerce experience and have implemented, built out and managed e-commerce platforms like a Shopify, BiGCommerce, Magento, Ecwid, etc.
  • Roadmap development and delivery experience
  • Must have strong technical knowledge on the subject matter that enables you to quickly evaluate situations, recommend resolution, communicate and brainstorm with teams and resolve issues
  • Must have experience with conversion and site optimization, audience segmentation, A/B testing, web analytics and versed in running product experiments and utilizing product analytics
  • Solid command of BI tools to analyze complex data, experience with Jira
  • Meticulous, have sound judgment, passionate about problem-solving, resourceful and a critical thinker
  • Have successfully led data- and metrics-driven technology, product, software projects and project teams
  • Result-oriented, analytical and self-motivated
